A new crypto debate is brewing on X (formerly Twitter), as Solana Foundation manager Vibhu has openly challenged Ripple executives and XRP community members to a live debate centered solely on verifiable blockchain data. His bold callout, posted on November 1, 2025, has ignited discussions across the crypto community — especially among XRP holders.
The debate invitation comes amid renewed scrutiny of XRP Ledger’s network performance, which Vibhu claims has shown little progress in recent years. He insists the purpose is not hostility, but accountability — urging the XRP community to “face the facts” about its blockchain’s real activity levels.
“I want Ripple and XRP to succeed at an insane degree such that the entire industry moves forward,” Vibhu said. “But the community does not argue with facts, even though the data is readily available.”
Solana Exec Points to XRP’s Stagnant Network Metrics
In his post, Vibhu highlighted what he called “years of stagnation” within the XRP Ledger, citing data from XRPScan showing that daily active accounts have remained around 25,000 for three years.
Meanwhile, Solana has grown exponentially — now averaging over 2.5 million daily active accounts, a difference of more than 100x compared to XRP. Vibhu argued that such a gap is concerning for a project as established and well-funded as Ripple.
This challenge arrives shortly after Ripple’s new venture, Evernorth, was listed on Nasdaq, expanding its institutional presence. Still, Vibhu believes the network’s core on-chain activity does not reflect the scale of its ambitions.
Comparing On-Chain Activity: Solana vs. XRP
Vibhu backed his argument with comparative transaction data.
-
XRP Ledger processes 1–1.5 million transactions per day, showing only modest growth.
-
Solana, in contrast, handles roughly 100 million daily transactions, according to on-chain data cited by Blockworks.
In terms of payment volume, XRP transfers total $50–60 billion monthly, while Solana’s stablecoin transfers reached nearly $2 trillion in October 2025. Vibhu stated these numbers clearly demonstrate Solana’s far broader real-world usage.
He dismissed claims that Solana’s activity is inflated by bots, noting that the data excludes wash transactions, making the growth genuine.
“If XRP’s demand matched its vision, the network would reflect it. But its growth remains extremely mediocre,” he added.
Vibhu acknowledged that both Solana and XRP Ledger boast low transaction fees, making the performance gap even harder to justify. He urged XRP supporters to confront the data rather than rely solely on future expectations.
Ripple Expands Ecosystem Despite Criticism
Despite Vibhu’s criticisms, Ripple is actively expanding its ecosystem, particularly through a new DeFi roadmap focusing on tokenization and stablecoin integration within the XRP Ledger.
The company also continues to grow its enterprise footprint following the acquisition of GTreasury, a move expected to strengthen Ripple’s role in global liquidity and payment infrastructure.
Still, Vibhu believes Ripple’s efforts must eventually translate into measurable on-chain activity if the project wants to compete with faster-growing ecosystems like Solana’s.
Public Debate Between Solana and Ripple Incoming
In his final post, Vibhu formally invited Ripple’s leadership and any prominent XRP community members to a live-streamed “facts-only” debate on X, saying:
“You bring facts, I bring facts. Facts are important. Let the internet decide who wins.”
Shortly after the challenge went viral, former Ripple Director of Developer Relations, Matt Hamilton, accepted the offer, confirming he was “up for it.” Community influencer King Solomon volunteered to host the discussion, and coordination between both sides has already begun.
The upcoming Solana vs. XRP Ledger debate, featuring Vibhu and Hamilton, is expected to become one of the most-watched crypto discussions of 2025 — putting two blockchain heavyweights head-to-head on transparency, data, and real adoption.
